6500K is just the color, but apparently that doesn't matter, here is a good read:

Wow! Thanks for pointing me to that. Very informative, and gives me a few ideas for when I can afford another light upgrade. I have a few gears turning...

This is out of control! I don't even have my puffers OR my jungle yet, and I'm already obsessed.

Oh, and I picked up a few pond snails from the pet store down the street for free! I have them in a gallon-sized jar that came from pickles or something. I nailed holes in the lid and sank some softened carrots in there. A few of them are sitting on them and I assume eating them! Hooray! Should I get another jar of ramshorn snails, or are pond snails enough? Perhaps the puffs would like another flavor of snail? ;)

Flutter: I looked into those other fertilizers you were talking about. Thank you for telling me about that! They ARE cheaper, but they are so much more complicated for me right now. I decided to get pre-mixed ones to do me for now until I get a good grasp on all of the different nutrients. I forgot that I had some money sitting in my Paypal from the surveys that I do online to make extra money. The ferts should be here next week!

They aren't complicated but we started out with liquid first too. Sometimes there's only so much you want to tackle at once ;)

If you're going to breed snails in one tank then stick with one species.

I would get a separate container for them!

I think I'm just looking for excuses to get more snails. I love watching them. I'm trying so hard to catch one in the act of laying eggs, since I know that they are, but no luck yet!
