Oh! I almost forgot! Blanketman, your tank is lovely! It looks like it could be an Amano tank.

+1! It really does! I <3 Amano.
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

Hoping to finalize the deal on the 90gal. My offer wasn't accepted but I'm fine with paying the asking price so hopefully she accepts that! Fingers crossed.

I found some gorgeous wood today. It's red. My plan is to go harvest some today, dry it out, varnish the crap out of it, then weight it down and put it in the tank. Can anyone suggest a varnish that is safe for aquarium use? I need to make sure that it's completely waterproof so it's safe for the fish and I don't lose the bark! I've been doing some reading and others have done this quite successfully. I think it will look stunning with the black gravel, white rocks, and plants. Plus, my living room will be red and white so it'll even match that :)

Now to do some reading about keeping and breeding shrimp!

The tank is mine :D I don't have it in hand yet but I'm hoping we can pick it up on the 4th.

Hey Flutter, where did you get your SAPs from? I'm having a hard time finding puffers in Ontario that aren't special order. Any recomendations?

I don't have any, this is all theoretical.

I'm now going with 2 small tanks as the condo association is annoying and difficult.

Very interesting and kind of spooky. In the wild I wonder how they keep their teeth trimmed down...

I've possibly found a 50gal tank and was wondering what people thought about this stocking.

-3 SAPs
-1 bristlenose pleco
-10 neons
-3 cories

Does that sound ok? Can I increase any of those numbers? It'll be planted and get 50% water changes each week.

I have a 55g with:

3 SAPs
1 rubber lip Pleco
Maybe 15 zebra danios?

I only do about a 20% water change and my parameters stay fine.
My tank's, planted, but not nearly as heavily as I'd like.
I run an oversized canister filter.

Dunno if that helps ya much with your query.

It does help :) A bit ;)

How do you like your stocking/setup? Is there anything you would change about it?
