"Mbu" is Swahili for "rock", and the "m" is pronounced - sort of um-boo. "Mbuna" is from the same root, meaning rock-dwellers.
T. miurus has only one "i" in the species name.

Scientific names aren't that bad. I've actually started pronouncing everyday words like scientific names, and it drives me crazy. My friends think it's hilarious, though . If anyone needs help I'd be glad to put in my 2cents. I'm also taking Latin again next semester (I still suck at it, haha) so if anyone wants anything translated or a pronunciation guide to anything in Latin specifically, I could always ask the prof. or check my text book, haha.

I've heard people say "moo-boo," but that cannot be correct. I try to say "mboo" as best I can even though English doesn't have "mb" word onsets.
