I've been in the hobby for about 25 years. I started with a freshwater community aquarium, had about 3 upgrades before I had a reef aquarium for about 6 years. In 2012 I had to move and disassembled all my tanks and gave all my livestock away. I started keeping freshwater fish since 2019 again.
Puffer fish have always drew my attention but I never kept them due to their individual requirements. 25 years later and I'm finally 'ready'! I'l be starting conditioning the tank soon.
I'm so glad I discovered this forum, dedicated to puffers.
After 25 Years I'm getting my first Puffer

Welcome! What species are you considering?
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

I live in South Africa and what I've seen in local stores are: Figure 8, Spotted and Pea Puffers.
I find the Figure 8 the most attractive, its bee a while since I saw one for sale. Will be contacting some shops once the tank is ready and fully cycled.
