Juvenile Fahaka puffer - new, just saying hi
Hi All, I am new to the forum and wanted to introduce you to Ollie, juvenile Fahaka puffer who has me wrapped around his fin. He is shown here hunting snails in a corner of his 110 gal planted tank. I know I need a larger one as he grows! Thanks for all the tips to keep him healthy, I have been enjoying the forum this morning in Northern California.

Welcome to the forum
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Thank you everyone! These topics are so helpful. I want this little guy to live as long as he possibly can. Such a little clown!

My advice would if not already done treat for Internal parasites. Chances are he has some and if they start to effect him it's much harder to treat. Precautionary treatment rocks

I love hearing about the 18 year old puffer! Awesome.
Re the parasites, I got Ollie as a small fry the size of my fingernail. He was purchased from a tank at my fave fish shop, containing 25 the same size. Do you think they were wild caught? He is now four inches long, super healthy and happy. Has a group of guppies in the big tank with him as well, they are healthy and breeding. Ollie always acts dramatically (theatrically) hungry, great appetite.
Happy to treat him if needed but I hate to alter anything if not necessary!
Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

I doubt they're not wild-caught.

Ollie has grown SO quickly! About 7 inches long now. I set up his 180 gallon tank and am conditioning it now. He needs more swimming room than his current 110 gal. My buddy, I am still wrapped around his little fin!
