Hello from Austin

Post by Bamboo »

Howdy , I just wanted to pop in and say hi from Austin , Texas . I've been interested in puffers for about three years now but never truly committed to purchasing one or more species and taking on the commitment . It started out with the awesome majestic and large size of an Mbu Puffer , I love them , they are very charming . But I love a big fish . Fortunately I never acted upon my desire to own a Mbu Puffer because in reality my home can not support a 2000 gallon tank. Since then I've been looking at Borneo species , pea puffers and South American Puffers . Well fast forward to present day ( 3 yrs later ) , I've been lucky to obtain a group of six South American Puffers from a pretty decent LFS . I'm excited about these and I'm looking forward to learning more about them.
Feel free to PM me with any and all pointers ( except for the obvious SNAILS SNAILS SNAILS ) on their husbandry and what makes them happy.

Have you read the article on pufferfish dentistry? You might want to get familiar with it. ;)

They need lots of flow, space and decor to be happy. Welcome to the forum.
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly
