Hi, ready to start again, I think!!!

Post by 'H' »

Hi everyone,
About a year ago I used to have a 3 year old White-Spotted puffer till my picaso triger decided to kill him and everone else :rip:
Still miss him :crying:

I'm now thinking about getting another puffer. After looking through pufferpedia I really liked the mappa puffer. However, the max size tank I can fit is a 7ft one, which I feel is still to small for this puffer. So toying with getting a White-Spotted puffer again, just love their personality and the way they spit water at you

My new tank will be a puffer only tank.
Can I put a White-Spotted and a dog-face together, all the books say you can, however, if there is the slightest chance they might fight then it will be just one puffer tank. If it would work what size tank would be best?

Cheers

:? They are 2 types of marine puffers, White-Spotted puffer and a dog-face puffer. :?

My fish marine book says that the dog-face puffers are Rarely aggressive, and more than one can be kept in the same tank. Can also be kept with other Arothron spp, except more-aggressive forms.

Just trying to find out peoples experiences with keeping 2 puffers in the same tank

Which species are you calling the "white spotted"?
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Arothron hispidus = whitespotted

Arothron Nigropunctatus = Blackspotted puffer ( this is the one the book says you can keep more than one!!! I called it the dog-face puffer)
