Hello everyone!
As you have probably noticed, The Puffer Forum has been booming lately! With all the new members and our existing family of puffer fanatics, the TPF Staff has been working hard to keep up with the increased activity levels. As a result, we've made a few changes to the layout, added some new mods to the team and we would like to take this moment to thank all of our members for their great contributions to the forum! Because of all of you, The Puffer Forum is a welcome home to everyone bitten by the Pufferfish Bug .
So lets talk about the few changes we've made to the site. First of all, and most obvious, is a revised forum listing, which will hopefully make it easier for members to find their way around the site and see forum sections they may have been missing previously. For the most part, all of the forums you are used to are still there, just in a slightly different order. A few of the forums have been combined, such as the Pix and Flix section, and the multiple Classified sections. The Classifieds have been narrowed down to a single forum, instead of four, and we ask that members use appropriate topic title prefixes to identify which type of classified they are posting: FS - For Sale, WTB - Wanted To Buy, or PALS - Puffer At Local Store. Instructions and examples are posted in the red header section of the Classified forum.
Second, we have posted an updated version of our Forum Rules. We ask that all members take a moment to read these rules and keep them in mind when posting. While most of the time there are no problems on TPF, we do occassionally have minor issues that come up, and we hope to avoid these in the future. Some highlights that we would like to bring to your attention:
- Keep the forum friendly! Rudeness and/or harassment of other members is not welcome here. Agree to disagree, if necessary.
- Do not post copyrighted images you do not have rights to. Show the same respect to others as you would have them show you.
- Keep signature sizes considerate. All text and images should take up no more than 6 lines of "normal" text.
Next, we have added a Creative Commons copyright to the forum. This is solely to protect our members who have worked very hard at writing articles, taking photos and sharing their experiences and expertise with everyone. Basically, the Creative Commons copyright allows people to share the content they find here, as long as they follow the guidelines of the copyright, which can be found HERE. This does not allow the users to use the content for their own profit, and it does not prevent the owner of the content from using it for their own profit, it only maintains that the source of the content will be properly identified, to prevent plagerism and assure our members receive proper credit for their hard work.
Finally, we would like to remind our users of a few basic forum tools. The Private Message system allows 100 messages each to be stored in your Inbox and Sentbox, so please take a few minutes to check your mailboxes and clean them out, if necessary. If you reach the maximum allowed messages, you will no longer be able to send or receive PM's until you make some room.
Also, with all the increased activity, it can be difficult for the TPF Staff to catch every problem or duplicate post that shows up. You, our members, can help us out immensely with this. Every post has a small icon at the top right corner, next to the "quote", "edit" and "help(?)" buttons. This is the Report function. If a post is in the wrong location, a duplicate, a problem post or just getting off topic or out of hand, clicking on this icon will allow you to submit a Report to the team letting us know there is a problem that needs to be addressed. This will help resolve these issues sooner, which will help keep the board running more smoothly.
Again, thank you to all our members for sharing your knowledge, experiences, questions and opinions with the community. Pufferfish are finally beginning to be understood, and we can help save the lives of more puffers by continuing to get the proper information and help out there where its needed. Keep up the good work!

Forum merging looks great! Everything is nice and consolidated, now.
