The Puffer Forum is pleased to announce the return of the Puffer of the Month Contest!

Every month, active members of The Puffer Forum are encouraged to submit photos of their puffers into our competition. The winner of each month will be automatically entered into our Puffer of the Year contest, held annually in January. This year, we are pleased to announce the winner of the Puffer of the Year will receive a $25 gift certificate to The Puffer Store!

Winning photos will also be displayed on our home page and in the Hall of Fame!

All members are welcome to vote on their favorite entries and spread the word!

Does it matter what puffer species? Does rarity matter? What are the characteristics of a winning picture/puffer? I bet it includes good coloration, a clear picture, and an awesome tank setup.

Yes, we decided to see how much activity the POTM gets before trying TOTM again. Last year interest just sort of fizzled out.

Groovitudedude, the photos are judged by forum members. So anything goes. Sometimes they win because the photo is funny, sometimes because the quality is breathtaking, sometimes because its just a great shot of something you don't see everyday. Of course, your chances are better if its in focus and not blurry ;).

We'll see. If we get enough entries to show there's enough interest, we will start it back up again.

But obviously, if we don't get enough entries in the regular POTM, it would be pointless to try to hold TOTM.

Two.

Well, technically one, since one of the people who sent in an entry didn't follow the rules completely and sent two photos instead of just one. *cough cough*

Good question! Are burrs, boxfish, and other related species allowed?
