Stressed new puffer

I got a juvenile immaculatus puffer just two days ago and he was doing great yesterday, eating and messing around with my other small fish. Today he had a darker color to him, wasn’t as active and kept getting stuck in my filter intake. Since I found him stuck I covered the filter intake with filter floss and rubber bands and he hasn’t gotten stuck again. He is in pure freshwater and I have used stress coat to condition the water. Tested the water today and came back with 0 Nitrates, 0 Nitrites, 7.8 ph (high but because they verge on brackish it is safe), 0 Ammonia. I don’t know what is causing his stress but I really don’t want to lose him.
