Melafix with gourami

Hi!
I have an Amazon puffer who is not doing well! She’s been harassed by other fish and has an inflamed tail, and appears to be getting exponentially worse! I would melafix it, but there is a gourami in the tank, too, and I don’t have a backup tank for any of the fish. It is a 60 gallon tank. Should the gourami be moved, or should he be fine?
I don’t know how long the puffer has, and truly think melafix will help!

Can't you just get a cheap 10g from the pet store for the puffer?

Unfortunately, as I found room for a 10g I had tucked away, I had no time to set it up as the poor puffer has already passed on...

Sorry you lost the puffer, but in the future, please don't allow a situation of harassment or any other stress affect the lives of your fish or pets.
Harassment, territorial issues, overcrowding, lack of proper food, dirty water, poor water parameters, etc. can all cause poor health and poor resistance to infection.
That, inevitably results in disease, and ultimately, death.

I agree. I knew all these things, but decided to take the chance before I had everything figured out. My plan was, ultimately, a 30g Amazon puffer tank. One thing I noticed upon her death was a fin so inflamed it didn’t even look like a fin anymore. I mostly just feel bad for the poor fish!
