GSP acting strange

Hello,

I've got one GSP (about 2") in a 29gal tank, temp is 76F, pH is somewhere between 7-8. I don't have a water testing kit, I normally just test the water at my work, but since it is the weekend I'll have to bring a water sample to pet smart in the morning, if it's not too late.

Anyways, he was fine most of the day, very energetic and ate his frozen krill as usual. But later in the day his belly got a little dark and he started acting a little strange, so I did a water change (9gal out of 29) made sure the water was the same temp when I replaced it and made sure to dechloinate it, along with adding some aquarium salt. I also made sure to remove all food and waste from the tank, and added a new plastic plant for him to hide in!

His belly stayed darker for a while but eventually turned white again. I watched him for a while and noticed he puffed himself up just slightly, then went back to normal. He also had a small bout of twitches. Now I am checking on him every so often and he is swimming some and laying on the bottom some.

I know it's hard to say what it is without the water parameters, I just hope he can make it though the night till I can figure out the issue and solve it. I've only had him for 3 months, but I'll be very sad to lose him

Wish me luck, will post updates 😞 🐡

While you're at Petsmart today, get yourself an API test kit (at the minimum, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate), a hydrometer, marine salt & Prime.
Also, get better food for him than just krill. Most can be bought at your grocery store & you can buy worms at Walmart.
