Hey,
I live in town so I have to either use tap water conditioner or let the water sit out for 24 hrs. Now I have noticed that my fish don't seam to do as well with tap water conditioner water. Most of the times when I have had fish die either mysteriously or from an amonia spike has been within a week of useing the conditioned water. I have also noticed that my fish tend to get sick easier after using conditioned water. I've tried two different brands and still seam to have this problem. I'm curious if anyone else has had this issue.

Are you sure the water conditioner is causing an ammonia spike and it is not your tap water itself? I know in my city our tap water contains chloramines and it also shows 1 ppm ammonia readings straight out of the tap. In this case, you want to make sure you are using a water conditioner that removes chloramine and detoxifies ammonia, not all do. I use Prime.
