Media bags for Purigen..........

Post by eieio »

the mesh bags from Seachem are ridiculously expensive (about $8 each)
what is anyone else using for Purigen, and can it hold up to the bleach procedure for re-constituting the Purigen
the nylon stocking sections I have used in the past do not tolerate the bleach, so it involved emptying the Purigen into a different bag to treat it, then transferring it back into the nylon stocking bags for use in the filter
and i'
m not sure the nylon circulates water through it effectively
a messy, time consuming hassle
what else is being used out there?

You can buy a 3-pack from Amazon for pretty cheap.

I never knew that this would be very helpful to us in the future. I will not go over it again.

I use the penn plax bags for their battery powered gravel vac. Mesh is fine enough not to lose any purigen but still lets.water pass through.
