RO/DI Unit

Post by *GSP*Fan* »

I am trying to get a RO/DI unit to make water changes easier and of course have the pure water to prevent any algae, or other problems that may arise.

I am not familiar with them at all and would like a little feedback, if possible, before I make my purchase.

This is the one I am looking to buy

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... ink:top:en

Any one familiar with this one or can give any insight at all before I buy?

I have read through the info thats given in the link but am still unsure of a few things. I do not know if I will need any additional equipment, anything regarding replacing filters....

It doesn't seem like it would require too frequent filter changes according to their chart, though I'm sure that will vary some. I just want to make sure I will be able to get replacement filters easily and that they won't be too expensive, especially if it turns out they will need to be replaced often.

Just any info on these systems or thoughts on this one is greatly appreciated. I feel a little lost not having dealt with anything of the sort before.

Thanks.

I actually don't recall coming across that site yet, which surprises me.

Other than the RO/DI unit itself, are there any other items for the unit I will need initially, so that I can just order it all at once?

They are very informative & have tons of videos that explain everything.

They also offer free extra filters, with purchase of a system.

Thats great, I hadn't seen anything about that yet. I haven't ordered yet though but had looked through what they offered and watched a few of their videos (hadn't even noticed them before you pointed them out, thanks for that btw).

My next purchase will either be one of their systems or a skimmer. Having a hard time deciding which to get first. Leaning towards the RO/DI unit for obvious reasons but also thought it would be nice to already have the skimmer now that I began my cycling tonight.
