FLUVAL U3 FILTER.

Post by suvattii2012 »

Hi, just wondering if anybody has a fluval filter and if there any good? I just bought the fluval u3 filter for my 20 gallon. The filter is for 24 - 40 US gallons but im sure us gallons are less and a little extra can't hurt. Iv'e been using a couple of cheap 20 gallon filters but seen as theses are only £28 now i think it's worth getting?

My first choice on canisters are Eheim, followed by Aquatop/Sunsun. I read not so great reviews on Fluval, have heard from people not so great things too.

Always get a filter that is 2-3x over the recommended filtration. So if you have a 20g, get something that is good for a 60g. I have a AC 110 on my 20g but that's all I had laying around. Only 1 fish in there , too.

Im sure it said the filter does 700 liters a hour and i think my tank is about 100 liters. Thats why i bought it because its good upto a 40 gallon. I could always cancel and buy something else. Anything for around the same price as this that would be better?

I much prefer HOB filters for smaller tanks. I add a canister for tanks over 55g.

For a tenner more you could probably get an eheim ecco
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Just had a look at some but they seem to be rather not as good as the fluval or much better and much more expencive. I will stick with the fluval u3 seen as ive ordered it now. Its a big upgrade to the filters i have now, there both like £8 ones but i keep the tank clean and have plants so they have done the job but this will nmake it even better and i could always keep one of the cheaper ones in aswell. The suvattii don't make much mess only some mud from the worms.
