Puffer Pendant!

Post by Infinity8 »

I stumbled on to an artist by the name of IndolentJellyfish on Etsy a few weeks ago that does cute underwater invertebrate charms/earrings/necklaces ect. After I bought one of her mantis shrimp sculpts, I approached her about doing something with more of a....spine. Magic blimp spines. ;D Happily, she was more than willing to try her hand at a F8 pendant! I just got the little guy in the mail today, and I thought I'd share. SO EXCITED.

Her pictures, not mine, of course. Mine refuse to turn out.

I can't wait to wear him about.
The best part?

FEATHER THINKS IT'S A REAL F8 TRYING TO INFRINGE ON HIS TANK.

He's tried to bite it through the glass twice now. My little fish wins the Darwin awards....siiiigh. Just thought I'd share!

We got to meet Kalvin last month - he's a very well-behaved beast. This month we will be dog-sitting a not-quite mature black lab who is pretty well trained, but nowhere near Kalvin's level. His owners are going to the Puget Sound area to look for a retirement home.

I must have a f8 sculpture! How much was it? I'd love to have one I could display on my desk lol.

PP- That is one hell of a shot! Love the pic!
RTR- Enjoy your Lab time ;D We have three...and though my mom's a trainer and they're all titled, there's never a dull moment with them. Too smart for their own good!

The pendant's about 1.5 inches, made out of polymer clay. Really sturdy..I also have a little mantis shrimp she made. With shipping I think he was around $48? The artist operates out of Canada, she's a dream to work with. That was the first puffer she's ever done, but she might be willing to make more. I can message you her contact info/shop if you're interested.

RTR & his wife tried to convince me to leave Kalvin there & come back for him next year! I wish I could find as good of dog-sitters for him around here... :?

I have always had dogs around, other than periods of high-rise lifestyle, but I cannot exercise them anymore, so do not have any of my own. Canine house guests are as much as I can handle these days. We do have a fair-sized dog yard, but not enough for other than small dogs. Only some homes in my neighborhood have sidewalks (optional here) and the walking can be quite uneven - which can dump me. Not good for the dog or the walker.

My girlfriend shop's on etsy all the time. It's hard to find good puffer stuff. She saw this post and had a Juke pendant made. It's awesome! Not only is it a porcupine puffer, it's Juke exactly. Down to his individual spots. Very cool. I have to find the pics she took before she sent it. They are much better than mine.

Oh my goodness! ADORABLE

I saw the other pendant on her tumblr and thought "aww, cute, someone had a porc made! I wonder who/how?" because most of her fans like invertebrates.

That just makes it 949205 times better that it was for you Casc! It DOES look just like Juke (from what I've seen of pictures, anyway.) So thrilled to see it, thanks for sharing. I have to agree...it's really hard to find decent puffer stuff in terms of shopping. The artist's tumblr is the same as her etsy shop name- i remember seeing the pics on there, if you need them.

Thinking about getting two charms made of my DP girls, Freckle and Hush, depending on her current commission status :) I'm slowly morphing into crazy fish lady and I don't even caaaaareee~
