Bought some cultivated live rock that came in at the LFS yesterday. Got first pick .
Meet Manny the mantis shrimp . As the first hitchhiker he's now inhabiting my refugium.

Those shrimps were conceived in a fiery volcano and spewed with evil. I love it

Re: Meet Manny
They are such a weird creature! When I first saw one I thought they were really gross looking, but they have grown on me a lot and I like how they make their own burrows.
How big is he?

A whopping 1" . If I ID'd correctly he'll grow to about 2inch max. I might set up my Fluval Edge for him if I can scrape up some money for another Tunze Osmolator ATO. Or I'll make an overflowbox out of some spare glass on the Fluval Edge and hook it into my 140g DT & 30g sump.puffykid wrote: How big is he?

Neat!
I'd set him up his own tank too.

They are fascinating creatures, I'm with team set him up his own tank. You can then tailor the tank to get the best natural behaviour from this little fella
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Re: Meet Manny
LOL just an inch? He better stay out of my GSP tank as they would make a quick and light snack outta him!
WARNING: Puffers are mischievous little blimps with enchanting powers. You may not be content with having just one.

I don't think that big butt of the puffer would fit in the holes where the mantis would hide .sgtmyers88 wrote:LOL just an inch? He better stay out of my GSP tank as they would make a quick and light snack outta him!
