Talked my mom into a tank!
Took my mom to a LFS and she decided she MUST have a reef tank...yay!!!! She bought a 28 gallon nano cube. We've (me) have been working on it since Saturday. I must say I'm quite proud of my rock work! The pic does no justice, the LR we got is covered in Coralline! She ended up with about 323436567 tiny starfish and a Mojano Anemone hitchhiker...I've been feeding the Mojano...but I know I'll have to kill it soon . Planned stocking is some sort of clown with host anemone, yellow watchman/pistol shrimp combo, pom pom crab and of course hermits and snails...she want a small starfish...we shall see. Anyways, here it is, day three!

Re: Talked my mom into a tank!
You counted all those starfish???
You'll have to wait about a year before getting an anemone for that tank. The clowns can be hosted by other corals. Mine are hosted by a large leather.

Really? A year? Thanks! Should we start plucking out the little starfish?

Re: Talked my mom into a tank!
It has 30lbs of LR. I want one more small piece, but I'm holding out to find a perfect arched piece. I'm jealous too...wish it was in my house...looks much better than my tank! I get to play with it though! I'm sure it will end up being "mine" it just gets to live at my Mom's house...which means she gets to clean it! Lol!!!

Re: Talked my mom into a tank!
Looks good so far. I will agree with PP about waiting so long for a host anemone. They alot more sensitive to water conditions and need strong lighting compare to pest anemones.
