Orange Toadfish!
I'm so in love with this fish <3
And one with flash
Right now my puffers are just big enough not to fit in his mouth, but I'll probably need to divide the tank later on, or set up a tank for him by himself.
He's an Orange Toadfish I named Romeo.
I'm hoping he's male because males make croaking frog noises to try to attract mates <3

Re: Orange Toadfish!
I picked him up at a local fish store (Wayne's Feed in Rockford, IL- kind of a dirty store, but they have really weird fish for good prices.)
We were originally looking for a larger marine puffer, but they didn't have any in, and this guy was too cool to pass up.
He's saltwater. About 6" right now. There's not a whole lot of info out there on these fish, but I guess he can grow to 12".
He eats frozen silver sides, and shrimp.

Re: Orange Toadfish!
I wouldn't count on it. I found this video on YouTube today, of a frogfish trying to eat a porcupine. I am not sure who I feel sorry for - probably both of them.zombiefetus wrote:Right now my puffers are just big enough not to fit in his mouth,

Re: Orange Toadfish!
Yeah I'll probably look into putting a divider in the tank tomorrow. But Romeo has never eaten live food, so I don't think he would even try to eat the puffers, but who knows. Better to be safe than sorry I guess.

That fish is wild! Don't be fooled--he can eat fish bigger than himself.

Re: Orange Toadfish!
Neat, but I'd certainly be worried about the puffers as soon as this guy is settled in.
Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Give a fish a man, and he'll eat for weeks.

Being worried about the puffers, I forgot to say how awsome I think that fish is. Such a cool thing!
