March POTM - Winner Announced!!!
Greetings and salutations to all you fine members of The Puffer Forum!
Thanks to a quick and impressive response, the March 2010 POTM is getting underway only a few days late, and you guys have some excellent photos to vote on! I have a feeling its going to be pretty tough this month, with all the cute faces.. but we'll do our best So lets cut to the chase:
*** Poll will run for 10 days, after 10 days the winner will be announced
*** Click on each thumbnail to view the full sized image
*** Members may only vote once, and may not change their vote, so vote wisely!
The winner will be featured on the TPF Home Page for the following month, and automatically entered into the Puffer of the Year photo contest held annually.
As always, we are always accepting entries for the following month, so get those shutters clicking and entries emailed!
Let the voting begin!
Entry #1
Species: Tetraodon Nigroviridis (GSP)
- Name of Puffer : Huggles
- Age: Approx. unknown (owned for less than 2 months)
- Size: Approx. 2 inches
Huggles lives with another GSP named Piggy in a brackish 60 gallon tank. One day I was taking numerous pictures and Huggles began to swim to her sunken ship when she turned around dramatically and gave me a look that meant "Stop taking pictures of me" I took one more pic, this one...and then I stepped away before she hit me. Entry #2
Species: Tetraodon nigroviridis
Name: Freddy
Age: Approx 2 years, owned for 14 months, 1 1/2 inches when purchased
Size: 4 1/2 inches
Other: Likes brushing his body against your finger, will bite though! He is in a 75 FOWLR Marine tank with some misc. damsels, a clownfish, 12 inch snowflake eel, six line wrasse and lawnmower blenny. Entry #3
South American Puffer (Colomesus asellus)
Fish of my affection since Sept 2009, not sure exact age.

Re: March POTM - Vote Now!!!
Beetroot made me say "awwww" out loud.
My new camera isn't the greatest for puffer pictures, unfortunately. I might have to borrow a friend's camera and try to get a shot in next month.
jennybugs, where did you get that signature picture? Adorable!

"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

Re: March POTM - Vote Now!!!
I normally don't vote on this because I have a terrible photographers eye and usually just end up voting for the fattest GSP, but have decided to vote for Mookie in memoriam. I would, however, love to see the raw image right off the camera of that Beetroot photo, so I could make wallpapers.
No matter how magnificent your successes or devastating your failures, the worlds' approximately 5 billion impoverished people could not possibly care less.

Hi Nick,
What do you mean by the raw picture?
Do you mean the picture in RAW format?
I could send you the picture for keeps, just let me know how I can do that for you.
Cheers!
