New puffer

I have just bought my first puffer And I’m concerned about the care that goes into it... on the website it stated that the Tetraodon Fahaka would be 2-4cm on arrival and grows up to 45cm. Has anyone’s puffer actually reached that size before? I’m starting out with a 45L tank but I’m worried that it will have to be upgraded sooner than I would like.
