Can any one settle this for me.. puffer poisonous to touch?

Hubby and I are squabbling over this ( friendly like lol) he says the fahaka is poisonous to touch, Ive only heard it is if you ingest a puffer. (Which i have no desire to eat my buddy) I've spent a few days with Google here and I can find a solid answer... only that they have Nero toxin 1000x powerful than cyanide. He's hysterically worried
that I will be killed or our children will be for that matter, when we feed / clean out our puffers tank...
anyone know?

Absolutely not! It is their organs that are poisonous, not their skin.

Sorry I know that the thread's like a week old but I just wanted to add that when you clean the tank and stuff, you do have to be careful not to get bitten if the fish stays in. They can do SERIOUS damage.

Agreed but you won't get poisoned.

Yeah didn't mean to imply that hahaha. But no even without poison they can take off a finger once they reach like 8 inches
