hi all, new here but hope to get some useful guidance and in turn offer what help i can. Been keeping fish and shrimp for several years but recently wanting a figure of 8 puffer, so i'm here to see if its going to be possible and what i'll be needing?

i've got a 46l live plant tank which has currently been sat for 14 days, so i'm thinking its time to research whats going to be required if i want to keep a puffer in this or not?

i know they arent the easiest and will need a lot of work, which i'm happy to do, would like some clarification on essential equipment i should be getting, water treatment, minerals etc and of course your opinions on how many to keep?

Take me under your wing fellow puffers and guide me

Unfortunately your tank is a little small, you should be looking at a minimum of 60l for a singleton

the only difference to keeping freshwater tanks is that you add a little marine salt, I keep my tank at approx. SG1.003@ 25DegC.
An aragonite substrate should be considered to maintain carbonate hardness.
A hydrometer or better yet a refractometer is needed to check salinity
