Raising snails for puffer

Hello, I am brand new to this forum. I have had fish or over 15 years, and really want to learn all I can, before I try Dwarf Puffers.
I am wondering about raising snails for the meal time.
Can I set up a planted vase (no filter) that would be put in a window with lots of light but no direct sun light, and add some snails?
Would snails and plants survive like this?
Would moss/marimo balls be a good plant to use or something else? I have two planted tanks that I can take plants from.
I have algae tabs that I could feed them with.
And what are the best types of snails? I have assassins already in my large tank, that I could use to start.

Also I don't know how many snails I would need?
If I had three puffers, how many do you feed them and how often?
Thanks.
Sherry

Thanks for the great links!! I didn’t see anything that said how often or how many live snails to feed...

You don’t really need snails for dps... just thawed frozen bloodworms, mysis shrimp, etc

I have four dwarf puffs and raise tadpole snails for them, they are prolific, attractive and the young are the right size for a good while. I feed them boiled potato, courgette, and algae wafers. You have to keep them warm for them to breed fast though. I also culture white worms, and buy brine shrimp in addition to giving frozen blood worm and white mosquito larvae. I have got other snails, red Ramshorn, MTS and pond snails, but the tadpole snails are the best.
