Big snail and small snails in same tank???

Post by Ti_CLaD »

I have 3 apple snails in a 5 gallons tank... Used to have 5, 2 passed away last month, had them for over a year, never did they even breed once... Today going at a local pet shop, I picked up some small snails, dunno the kind, they have an infestation of them so they gave some.

Right now I set them up in a little cup inside that tank so the apple snails can't get to them. My question is that since the apple snails are about the size of golf balls, one might be the size of a plum, if I let them run with the other little snails (biggest is maybe 1/4" long), will they eat the babies just because of the size of them???

If I'd like to relocalise the apple snails, can I put them in a 0.004SG brackish tank with a 2"long figure8 without it always picking and slowly eating them??? Will they even survive in the brackish water???

Puffers will pick at any snail. I don't think the big snails will bother the small ones

Snails will die in BW.

Actually BW is needed for certain species of snails eggs to successfully hatch, like nerites. So it's not a problem for some snails.

Yes, but the OP is asking about Apple snails.

Sorry if you thought I was trolling, i didn't even know the meaning until a few months ago. I only said what I did to mainly get my post count up and prove I'm not a spammer, also you said "snails will die in BW" so I took that as all snails.
