Sad update and some good news!!!

Post by Donna_G »

Hi Everyone
I haven't been by here for quite a while as everything was chugging along nicely, unfortunately my Congo puffer suddenly died a couple of months ago. I had decided that there would be no more puffers, and have happily watched my Dwarf puffers enjoy their senior years :)
I have now reserved a RED Congo puffer from Wildwoods and will be arranging delivery for next week, it was a spur of the moment decision and am now panicking as I can't find any red sand within my price range!!!!! He's quite expensive at £65 and delivery on top, so don't want to be spending over £100 on sand :( but as the price tag is higher as its a rare colour, I would like to keep him as red as poss
I know a few people have had red ones so thought I'd see if red sand was really needed or could I use black sand and a bit of red gravel mixed in (would that scratch his skin) or red rocks as decoration.
Thanks
Donna

Mine was kept in 75% black sand & 25% red gravel.

I just put it on this substrate in a box, for the pic.
