What puffer??

Post by branw »

Is there a puffer I can get for a 10 g? Originally I was thinking freshwater but I think I am willing to venture into marine.

Well, for small SW tanks, Canthigaster genus is the best friend... but all the tanks i´ve seen this guys are around 25-30g... I'm not sure about 10g for a marine puffer.

But, if you go for FW could be ok for a C. travancoricus or C.lorteti, even so i think its small ñ_ñ

A 10 gallon tank would be absolutely lovely for one dwarf puffer. DPs are freshwater. Check out the articles about them in the library. They're very engaging, personality-filled puffers!

Ya the only puffer that is truly suited for a 10g tank would be the Dwarf Puffer.

I have been reading all about the dwarf puffer. I am converting an old radio stand and can only fit a 10g. I already have sand. Heavily planted I have been reading ??? can I breed snails and shrimp together separate from the dp ??

Ahhh that makes sense. I have a plan of fitting a tank into am old radio stand. I think a 20 g would fit but the window would be more 10g that shows. I am thinking of constructing a 3d background and diving the two sides that wouldn't show and maybe having snails on one side and shrimp on the other. And not adding yet another tank. I need to read more about breeding them though hmmm

You'll have to keep us posted on that 3d background. I'd like to build one someday. :) I breed cherry shrimp, ramshorn snails, pond snails, and mystery snails all in a 30g tank with very few problems. I put a new lettuce leaf in there every day and it seems to keep them from eating the eggs. Even the mystery snails will eat other snail eggs. Essentially you can breed any of the above in a bucket or storage bin if you want.
It's a crayfish! It's a snail! It's a... ah who cares?
Nom nom nom!...

Tank: 4 liter custom-shaped sphere
Contents: 1 Brainfish
Ph: 7.4
Ammonia, nitrites, nitrates: ?
Problem: Cloudy/muddy water
Can you help me?
