Here are some basic "General Chat" Terms. (not related to puffers or fish)

LOL = Laugh Out Loud - this could mean - he is laughing about somthing he said/you said... or he could be a person like me who uses lol at the end of every sentence to express that he is happy about it.
Z'OMG commonly use but the same as OMG
BRB = Hes going away to go do somthing in real life (away from the computer)
RL = Real Life which means... the thing that our fishies live in =) so get off the computer and go see you fishes!
AFK = Away From Keyboard (not used on the forums but i got asked that the other day so =P, it means they are leaving the computer, and may be gone for a while.
1337, L33T = Elite, Amazing Good ect -- im not sure if it has an exact meaning but its roughly that
Uber = Really Really cool
Noob, Newb = rookie, new to whatever you are doing,
Nub - a varation of noob
