Hi,

my Jack Russell is 17 1/2 years old. Next year in January "Jack" is going to turn 18.
We got him out of a pound when he was almost 10 years old. He stayed there for an entire year.

He is actually doing pretty fine, except that he has a little bit Alzheimer and that he has to take 2 pills for his heart every day.

So, just wanted to know> How old are your dogs? Is everything fine with them? :)

yes a patterjack is half jack russell terrier and half patterdale terrier ......both are working dogs ,which years ago were heavily used by terriermen to hunt vermin and small prey and people still do continue to this day to go ratting and rabbiting etc with the breeds . Probably 2 of the most cleverest dog breeds on the planet . Patterjacks have amazing characters , very affectionate , playful , will guard owner and home may the need arise , they have the fearlessness of the jrt and believe they are much bigger than they are , a large dog trapped in a small dogs body ! . And with the patterdale lines all the yappiness that you'd associate with a jrt is gone :) ...a truly incredible dog to own and quite a well kept secret in the main stream .....i acquired mine from a working farm where they were most passionate about them ...i'd highly recommend them to anyone potential dog owner , great with other dogs and small children . Can be a little challenging as pups due to their high intelligence allowing them to be naughty, but they are easily trained and are capable of learning endless commands .

My dogs are still young. Killian is a pitbull, and he is a little over 2. Perkins is a mutt, in the truest sense lol, and he's a little over one. I have a high suspicion Killian is allergic to grains, and he has a bit of a problem keeping weight on him. (he has a clean bill of health from the vet though. Just is very lean. No worms) Perkins really doesn't have any issues. I think him being a mutt gives him so many advantages.

Killian was sold at 4 weeks old, out of a car (way too young, I know) and a college student bought him, because she knew he was way too young and didn't want something worse to happen to him. She however couldn't keep him because of living in some of the college housing. So I got him from her when he was 6 weeks. I found him on craigslist

Perkins was an oops litter and I got him off of craigslist, because I didn't want him to end up in the pound, either.

The picture I am posting is from Father's day this year when we were all outside BBQ'ing

Pitbulls are my favorite breed but hubby doesn't trust them. I can't tell you how many times my JRT has bit him!
