Tortoises

Anyone have one (or more) of these awesome animals?

I've been thinking about reptiles lately and of maybe adding to the menagerie.

We've got a Mediterranean Spur Thigh called George and a Marginated called Herbie that we took in because the previous owner had been given him (which I now think could be a she) as a present and didn't have the right equipment. We thought that they were the easiest creatures to care for when we first got our Spur Thigh but now they have a section of the garden to themselves and a heated greenhouse! I mean they basically take care of themselves now but making sure that they have the right environment from the start is expensive, but rewarding.

+1 to Iliveinazoo's comments. That pretty much is a concise review of tortoise care. Pretty straight-forward, but the set-up itself is demanding. It is a non-trivial commitment.
