WTB Tetraodon schoutedeni (USA)

Post by schleppey »

I have been in the market for this fish for at least 6 months now and have grown desperate enough to make an account in effort to track one down. I put feelers out at 4 separate LFS's in the Milwaukee area and most of them still believe they are impossible to import due to war. Sigh. It is frustrating when I feel like I have used a lot of my resources and still have not even the slightest glimpse hope in my area. I know there must be an army of you out there with these amazing little pals and you had to get them somewhere. In southeastern Wisconsin I have came up extremely dry and am looking for someone to at very least point me in the right direction. Thank you

I'd recommend Below Water. I'm using them to look into a Tetraodon Pustulatus, and they said that they might have one coming in soon with some Schoutedenis. They're based in Canada, so you'll have to clear USFW, but they have a few established outlets here in America.

Wes is my contact. He is on Facebook and Monster Fish Keepers. I spoke with him 2 weeks ago in an effort to connect him with another few people, he was on vacation at the time and sold his last 5 to a member here! He told me he was going to try and get one last group before the season ended, so now would be a good time to reach out to him. He also is usually gets 10ish plus when he gets them, so as along as you get to him before most are sole you should have no issue getting a handful. He’s out of Irvine, CA so he is local and ships. Wonderful man who really knows his rare fish and puffers!

Wes is wonderful! I can't say enough good things about him. He's terrific to work with and very knowledgeable.
He sent me my 5 schoutedeni, and all arrived healthy and safe.
