Oh he IS gorgeous! Look at those maroon stripes!!! I wish I could get bigger plants to grow, and I could get the darker feel in my tank... Sucks that I will need MORE LIGHT to get the plants to grow...

Someone pointed out on someone else's fahaka (that had a stripe that ended behind the fin) this one has one that ends just above the fin. (I'm looking for these now) Very beautiful Fahaka :) Thanks for sharing!

Well. My Abei puffer decided to appear, but in a very bad spot. Some algae on the glass, and very poor light under a plant made it impossible to get a good picture. This is as good as I managed to do:

I believe the one you are thinking of is Lisa's Fahaka, it had a stripe that ended behind the fin.

That is a beautiful Fahaka, and lovely photos Johanski.
Your Abei is a cutie, do you have a name for yours? I have one and his name is Byron, he's signing up for Weight Watcher's this fall.

does the abei have that blueish tint to it in natural lighting just looking at the tank. or is that something giving that effect? that is amazing looking if its really blue like it looks in the pictures and might push me over the edge to try and find one similar to that. very nice fahaka as well. another one i would like to have one day :)

When editing my pictures in photoshop I always try to make the colors look as natural as possible, so that's the actual look of my abei. It's a beauty. I was very lucky aswell, it was the most active one of the puffers in the store, and the last one left aswell, since my friend is working there (He owns the fahaka) he wanted to keep it in the store to observe it for as long as possible.
