Puffer Fish Waking Up

Post by sparks42 »

I was thinking... I'm sure in the next day or two I'd be able to sneak a video of my puffer fish waking up. This would show where he sleeps, what he looks like when he sleeps, and also what he's like when he's waking up. I was thinking we could all post vids of our puffer fish waking up into this thread. Preferably links to vids so there's no overload. I think it would be neat to see :)

Even by turning on the lights, or flashing a flashlight into my tank - my fahaka doesn't seem to 'wake up' if he's sleeping. He's usually sleeping when I get home from work, and I take a peek at him (either flip lights on or use a flashlight) but that's that. He doesn't move or react (first two or three times I worried he was dead, as his gills move very little even).

Otherwise, he almost ALWAYS is awake before me, face pressed to the glass, watching for me to emerge from the bedroom (FEED ME BREAKFAST, WENCH!)

Bloat is always sleeping when i get home from work and me flicking on the room lights never seems to bother him much, takes him a good 10-15 mins to get up and moving lol

really ? chomper is up and at the glass within maybe 3-4 seconds of my entering the room, even with the lights off. thats why i really wanna catch it on video, and see what other puffs do when they wake up!

Here is Chomper waking up, I found this video I already had from about a month ago so I just posted it online.

He is sleeping in his old bed by the mirror, then I come in and he gets right up :)
