A product called Simple Solution. I think there is also one called Natures Miracle. As I recall they have enzymes that eat the urine. Odor Ban is also good for smells.
There are many knowledgeable fish keepers on this forum willing to help and give great advice...The advice is free; What you choose to do with it gives it value.

Any ammonia free cleaning product, anything containing ammonia will make the dog go there again.
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Nature's Miracle is the best for dog urine. Cat urine it's something else, but I always use Nat Miracle and not only do the stains come out, nothing shows under a black light.

Re: cleaning urine from carpet
Guy I bought my house from had a zillion cats and the carpets had a strong urine smell. Ultimately what I had to do was rip them out, rip the pad out, find each and every stain in the subfloor - and there were a lot - sand and paint each one. Then replace the carpets and carpet pad. Way too much work if you ask me, but worth it in the end.

He smells that other dog's marking and is trying to replace it with his own. You might have to do what I did. :\

Re: cleaning urine from carpet
I would suggest using "spot shot" and than have the carpet professionally cleaned. I would leave the dog out of your kids room for some time, until that habit has been "forgotten".
I hate dog urine smell. Something you definately want to stop now.
