I had to laugh because Ive always known it as Multiple Tank Syndrome and then I get here I had to do a double take because someone was talking about how bad MTS was. I was like what are they talking about? Sure enough it was Malaysian Trumpet Snails.

I don't know many Texas keepers, I constantly read about how people think they are ugly. I don't get that. Mine is lit up like a Christmas tree with blue. And they are super hardy fish. I almost never see them in my pet stores.

Texas are pretty common in my area (Tacoma, WA) but the funny thing is I actually dont know of anyone actually raising any...
I belong to a local forum and I know most of the cichlid keepers in that forum but no Texas amongst them. Though most of us have the more unusual cichlids.
I myself an raising a big Pearsei named Porkchop:

I saw that pic in another thread. I must admit I had never see one! I didn't even know what it was! It's pretty though. Very healthy looking fish.

I spent the evening doing some maintenance. I used the mag-float and clean off the glass and then gravel vac'd the 210g. I pulled a few pieces of driftwood out of there to put in my new puffer tank. All in all pretty uneventful but am eagerly waiting for my new hairy puffer to come in on Thursday!

Pic of the hairy when he gets there!

I've cleaned tank glass and moved ornaments around.

Cleaned both tanks, as per usual. Also removed most of the sand from my daughter's tank, it will be easier for her to keep clean, and hopefully I've sifted out most of the *#&@** MTS

Got bored so I snapped a few pics

My 210g
Image
Its a bit empty looking but I have fish growing out to go in it. Sorry no Fahaka puffer in my future.

My upstairs tanks, a 72g bowfront and a 40B
Image
The bowfront has growouts in it for now, so I have options for a future occupant.

My 40b which will be home to my future puffer. Right now housing a Red Isletas cichlid. (He is in time out)
Image
This is what I am doing for the hairy puffer, the cichlid is in there in the meantime to keep the cycle alive.

The "B" is for breeder

Wow, looking at the pics my tanks really look empty. I really need to get my growouts done and finally get all the stock situated.
