m/f poll

Post by KorrepZ »

It's my understanding that there are way more female puffer owners then males. For some reason tha ladies just melt away at this hobby.

So here's a poll to underbuild this theory and to see what the reflection is of our puffer community!

So what are you? a guy or a gal? ;)

I am female, hear me roar :)

lol I don't know, I guess I never really thought about how many guys vs girls there were on here... I see usernames and avatars, some are noted as girls, but... How many? I know there was a guy I called a girl once (SORRY!)

Ive noticed in fish keeping there seems to be more females on the forums then males. And most of the females are good looking too

Okay, well.. these are relatively "cute" fish.. even my mom "awwws" over puffers :)

But since they have their vicious side too.. many men like them for that reason. I'd venture a guess that we're pretty evenly split male vs female, but as always, the females just talk more ROFL

It may just be this forum. I see a lot more guys keeping them (especially the giant species) on other forums.

Puffer keeping is also about hauling buckets of water back and forth. I'm female and the cute comes with work!

Men are a minority on here, always have been. I've had to put in my signature that I was a bloke at one point many moons ago.

A womans perspective of a puffer fish: Look its so cute like a little puppy.
A mans perspective of a puffer fish: Look its an agile intelligent killing machine.

I agree. There's a big difference between gender and sex, and I recently realized that a lot more people than I thought identified with the opposite gender from their sex, or with both genders. Then there's people who physically are both sexes... But an "other" would probably be sufficient for this poll. :)
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."
