Re: Please help--Sick Fahaka
Puffer ich can look a little different. It generally starts on their body instead of fins. Even if it's not ich, the salt treatment could help. Salt is used for a wide variety of things such as fungus. Also, you're saying it can't be ich because you haven't added anything to his tank, but ich can ha...

Re: Tank Progression: 60 gallon
Just wanted to chime in and say that it really can take quite a while for corals to "liven up" (as you already read). So, I guess just be patient and occasionally try and feed it at night. Good luck.

Re: Anyone had any experience with a lone SAP?
The advice you've been given is good. I just wanted to say that you can sometimes find puffers on aquabid.com, if you have the money for shipping. I really think you should get at least two more puffers, because they're very nervous without tankmates of their own species most of the time. However, r...

Re: Sand!!
I'm pretty sure dragon gobies prefer it much lower than that. Not only do they prefer a lower SG, but he probably won't do well with the puffer. They also require like 30 gallons themselves so you're quite overstocked here. They don't have good eyesight, so therefore have a harder time finding food...

Figured that's what they were.
You may wanna start offering more variety, too. Vitamin deficiency is really bad. Also, you can feed smaller portions, too.

It really depends on if you wanna stay with fresh water or go to brackish and possibly marine.

Re: My GSP Aquarium Update
In regards to your first question, look up pineapple sponges. If that doesn't seem to look like your things, maybe Copepods and/or Amphipods.

Re: Little Dude has me confused.
Sorry for your loss. Work on buying everything you need, like a liquid testing kit (no strips, bad readings) and making sure your tank is properly cycled. You want 0 ammonia, and 0 nitrite and you want to get an actual nitrate reading to know it's cycled. The process will go like this. You tank will...

How are you thawing the frozen items? I'm only asking because it actually makes quite a difference for your puffer.sw10mm wrote:Fish and shrimp both came from my brother n law he breeds the guppies as feeders and buy the sjrimp in bulk to. Okay, and were the shrimp quarantined and was the fish you fed fresh and alive, or frozen?

Re: My new GSP?
You can't convert to brackish with those other fish. You will need to remove the other fish or put him in his own 30+ gallon tank. You will need to increase the salinity by only .002 per week. Make sure the tank is fully cycled before this or else you will just wind up crashing your entire tank and ...

Re: My Little GSP 2
A lot of puffers prefer to be alone.
Can't really say how his water quality is or isn't unless you provide us with results. We need ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, and salinity.
