Discourage yes, but I have a few salt tanks and of coarse we loose fish on occasions. It's just those ...

This is really got me as there was no sign what so ever of disease or problems. It is just so upsetting as you al...

Upset about the Loss Of My Porc. Puffer
Hi I'm upset right now and could use a few comments. I got a very small 2"porcupine puffer back in April, have had puffers for the last six years so I pretty well know what I am doing. Did a water change yesterday and for the first time felt comfortable giving the tank a new look. Usually chang...

My Star's and Strips grew to about 17 inches so as far as tank size goes the bigger the better. This all depends on the amount of room you have and the $$$ you want to spend. I have kept a dog face and a stars and stripes together but you must exercise caution as every fish is different. It is not t...

I found that with my Dog Face any change in diet can lead to constipation. My boy went almost a month without eating due to this problem, which I finely figured out. Epsom salt cleared the constipation up and now when introducing him to any new foods it is done gradually . He should start eating now...

Ahh a mappa puffer lucky you such a beautiful fish. The curled tail can be a sign of submission, nervousness, just give it some time and he/she should settle in. I hope you are prepared to upgrade in tank size as the mappa can get big. Up to 14 + inches I do believe in no time at all if you give int...

Well Maw I went and checked out that link you left above. It started off like this .....Many of the marine puffers range into brackish waters, especially when young. The dog face puffer (Arothron hispidus), also known as the stars and stripes puffer , is one of the hardiest and a very suitable aquar...

You are so right puffer geek they do get large. I myself did not know what I was getting into when I got my Stars and Stripes as far as the size went. Started out at a 54gl to a 90 and then 120 all within a couple of years and that was only for one of them, I cannot imagine two! So be prepared beca...
