You will have to do large weekly water changes moving all the decor around to clean under it.

They are marine fish as adults. I would not trust them w/corals.

I think your puffer is healing nicely. Keep doing what you're doing. I wouldn't add anything to it's skin.

Totally different animal. Forget the brine shrimp. Excellent feeding ideas on both GSP articles in our Library.

How big is the puffer? Are you aware this fish can grow to 18" & will require at least a 120 US gallon tank, possibly w/o any tank mates? 35g won't hold this for for long. Start doing 50% weekly water changes (cleaning gravel as you go) & add a Aquaclear 110 to your filtration.

I have a feeling whatever care you did for the puffers, had nothing to do with their liver problems. More so, the care they had before you received them. Could be, that they were fed a diet of feeder fish in a holding tank for a while. That might do it. I had a T suvattii that only lived with me for...

Try adding 1 tbsp epsom salt/10g & up it to 1 tbsp/5gal in a couple of days, rather than a "bath".

Melafix won't hurt. Neither will following the instructions in the article I linked you to.

As far as keeping your tank cycled--you'd be best to use plain ammonia & raise the titer to 5 daily, Before adding your fish, do a 90% water change & you're good to go.

Sorry for your loss...

Melafix isn't for the problem you could have. It is for bacterial problems. You puffer could have some kind of external parasite, like ich. Are there any spots like salt on it? Read the article on Treating Puffers With Ich, in this forum.

I can't find that thread I wanted you to read but the other DF did the same thing. I'm pretty sure it survived. Just be sure to keep the water pristene & keep up w/Melafix & Pimafix.

I have the Coralife Super Skimmer 125 on my 55g & wish I had bought the 220. Don't skimp on your skimmer--you'll be sorry. I started out w/a Backpack & now it's in the basement doing nothing... For a little more, at http://www.bigalsonline.com , you can get the 125. Red Sea Prizm is garbage.
