i just read through most of that website, all i can say is the man knows how to spend money well. amazing. After seeing that and reading through most of the marine depot material, i think i am going to stick with freshwater, atleast for now. I know i'll atleast have a tank that is well plant...

well, my goal would be a lot of live rock to minimize waterchanges(say once a month rather than once a week). Like i said i'd be willing to do a sump setup of somekind(i have a 20gl extra or i could buy say a 29g taller tank). I am just trying to get a feel of what direction i want to go with this. ...

Could i set up a marine tank for a juv GSP?

Well, i thought i was all set on my new tank situation, but i got the thinking that a single GSP could be fun and if i did i'd like to go full marine. yes, there are other puffers available for marine conditions, but i only have a 75g tank to work with and most need a minimum of 100g. First off i do...

if you can breed them that well, you could feed several puffer tanks.

A question to you, what kind of numbers am i looking at with 2 ten gallon breeders?

hell i am using a bucket and i am breedin them( i want to add a heater because the house sits at about 65 degrees Fahrenheit and its a tad too cool for them. water, filter, food. The snails usually do the rest. I do 80% water changes weekly and feed them algae waffers. I got an aquaclear 150 on a 5g...

like others have said, try crushing the shells before dropping them in. Or you can do like i have been doing with my dwarf puffer(freshwater)...only feed him the snails and nothing else. My puff runs and hides when i approach the tank and doesn't notice food when i drop it in the tank. But i keep it...

they should eat snails, seriously. Dont feed them anything else and when they get hungry they will hunt...my dp does it so i'd imagine a SAP would...seeing how they are probably better suited to hunting snails.

ok. I def think i am gonna go with sponge filters when i upgrade off a single air pump and some low light plants like moss, maybe some najas grass if someone will let some go for cheap.

my next task is finding a quality stand for my future tank.

thanks, thats the answer i was hoping for. I am thinking i am not gonna be able to find a use for the 2213 when i upgrade. Its the main filter on my DP 10g, but i wanna get SAP's and a large tank (125g+) and i cant even see running it on the big tank either solely as mechanical filtration because it...

ok, so i am going to impliment some plants into the forumla.

Do you think i would be better off using multiple sponge filters or should i buy some small diameter pvc and rig up a dual intake/output for the 2213 i have on my DP tank...prefiltered ofcourse.

The reason being is that they do create and odor, i dont think it sm...

Revamping my snail operation.

Alright, i have made a life decision which will allow me to go ahead and set up a larger tank instead of waiting another year or 2. I plan on keeping a small school of SAP's. Yes....i am crazy. Yes, i will need a lot of snails. Thus, i am re evaluating my snail breeding operation and am looking to u...
