Twin spots

Hi all I was in a lfs and they had 6 twin spot / target puffers crammed into a tiny tank. Half of the poor things had evidence of being attacked. 1 looked close to death. I asked the store manager who said he wanted rid of them and would take anything. Clearly they ordered these with no research. I ...

Re: My palembang/dragon/humpback puffers

Also re Vitachem - I have heard about this before. How do you use it and how does this help the fish? If i take a small frozen whitebait fish for example, if i leave it soaking at 8am when i go to work and then come back at say 6pm and feed the fish - will this be ok? do i need to rinse off excess v...

Re: My palembang/dragon/humpback puffers

Hi, Thanks for your replies, I have attached 3 pics, 1 of the tank, 1 pic of each puffer. The photo that is upside down is of the smaller puffer (can't seem to get the photo to turn around?). They really are awesome :D. Also the photo of the bigger one I had to resize so the filesize was not too lar...

My palembang/dragon/humpback puffers

Hi all, So since my last post, I decided to go with the Palembangs. After calling around 30 local (and not so local) fish shops. A few had some in stock but I found one specialist shop that believes they have what is likely to be a male-female pair. I have used a lot of fish shops before (I am new t...

180l

Hi

I am thinking of getting a new tank (180l) to house a bigger puffer.

The species that has caught my eye recently is the humpback - can these be kept in a pair/three or has the be solitary?

Thanks

Urgent - sick GSPs

Hi, I need some help with my GSP’s. I ordered some frozen fish food over the net (because there was a much better selection than in any of my LFS’s). We missed the delivery and in short the food ended up being out of the freezer for a couple of days and completely thawed/room temp. The seller advise...

Gsp with orange fugu

Hi I have now got my tank established with GSPs and they’re great, transitioned nicely to brackish water and doing well. My lfs had in stock an orange fugu/ peacock puffer. Similar size to my gsps. My research shows they like similar water to gsps. Can I put him in there with a pair of gsps or not a...

2 filters

Hi For a GSP tank: Te tank has a good internal filter, however I just remembered I have a spare external filter and all new filter sponges for it. I was thinking as the puffers are messy - I should add the external filter as I have it anyway. Is there any issues to having 2 filters? Is there any iss...

GSP further info

Hi Further to my previous article... I am looking to set up a green spotted puffer aquascape/bioscope and have a few questions: - what substrate would be the best/most natural in comparison to their natural habitat? - what plants are found in their natural habitat? - are the brackish/salt requiremen...

Re: Juvenile GSP's in 120 litre

do you think I could fit more if I would do more regular water changes? or is it more an aggression issue?
