Re: Twin spot puffers - urgent rescue/help
One of my most docile schoutedeni puffers is itchy, trying to rub up against plants and nipping at his tankmates, and flying away as if nipped when there is no one near him. I had already dosed the tank with melafix on Friday to try to head off a possible bacterial infection since some of the puffer...

Re: Significance of dark marks on puffer's face?
Thanks Pufferpunk and pufferjw, what a relief, good to know. I was wondering if it could be just their spots coming in, but was concerned because the one spot is so much darker in comparison to the other spots on the rest of their bodies. Sorry to be overprotective- will feel a lot better once they'...

Significance of dark marks on puffer's face?
Hi All, Two of my puffers have developed very dark marks near their mouths/noses and a third has one under her eye. I'm wondering if it's bruising (can puffers get bruised in the traditional sense?) or a bacterial infection or something else? A fourth puffer has what looks to be an injury on its bac...

My dream tank!
I'm almost finished setting up my 125g with the 6 T. schoutedeni. Other inhabitants are 6 upside-down cats and 15 oneline tetras. I put a few more rocks in the front left after I took this photo, and there is more val coming, but here's a general idea shot of the tank. They're all settling in wonder...

Re: Dosing schoutedeni's snail tank with Prazipro?
Awesome, thanks! When you soak their food in Prazipro, do you cut it with any water? Or soak it in straight, undiluted Prazipro?

Dosing schoutedeni's snail tank with Prazipro?
I'm treating my 55g with Prazipro due to a parasite sighting. Inhabitants include an adult T. schoutedeni. I'm also inclined to dose the snail tank where I grow the snails to feed my schoutedeni, but I'm concerned she'll get double dosing that way (already dosed in her tank water then the snails wil...

Re: Puffer mania
Hi StinkyPete, thanks for the surface skimmer recommendation and all of the info! My plants so far are jungle val, bolbitis, and lots of anubias. I splurged and got two of the mother anubias on Amazon and was able to break each of them up into 3 more large plants each to make 6 tall ones, providing ...

Re: Puffer mania
Thanks so much, StinkyPete, Pufferpunk, Bleedingheartmommy, and hadla! I am not sure what the parasite is, but it seems to start out life as the tiniest red dot on her belly and then is able to attach and detach itself at will, growing into that monstrosity I posted above. PP had the same reaction I...

Re: Puffer mania
And here's the parasite (?) that was hanging on my adult schoutedeni girl in my 55g (who is about to be a single lady. She's much older than the juvenile male currently in there, and he's about the same size as the 5 newbies, so I think I'm going to do 6 in the 125 and keep her in the 55.) I'm going...
