Personally, I'll never keep more than one puffer together again - My three f8s started to fight more and more which is why I traded them in.

Have done up my tank with some slate caves and a nice fake large leafy green plant - It's strange, someone pointed out, that I have that decor with a saltwater GSP. However the colours of the fish are striking against the slate, along with the black background and black sand. Can post pics if anyone...

There was a viscous surfactant which I assume is the conditioner. I think this was the problem as it seems to recur every time I do a water change. It is much less of a problem now though - the skimmer cup fills rapidly a couple of times and then works as expected, whereas on first use it just kept ...

Update: Things are going great. Got my tank all sorted out and looking good and intending to add LR some point this year. good, congratulations............now just keep the cat away from it! :lol: Loll goddamnit I don't even have a cat! :P Yay, this hobby is well worth a few disappointments! Agreed!

Haha! Same! I put some crab meat in the tank recently and it fell to bits. I was pissed until I realised Oddball was having a great time chasing it around.

Thanks for the reply :) I was reading something that was telling me it was conditioner that was acting a surfactant -- Either way, do you know if/think it would help to just keep running it and just letting it overflow for a while until it settles? And then (or instead) maybe running it and emptying...

But if that can take over a week then will it always be a problem, considering I perform weekly 30% W/C
