Re: sleeping puffers
Reaper what is next to your fig8? not the clay pot looking thing but whatever looks like an extension of your fig8?? It's a CAE. The figure 8 is brand new and still in freshwater. He's currently in my breeder tank/temporary QT with several varieties of snails, crays, and shrimp to keep him full. Hi...

Ah, well that's too bad. It's great that you were able to find 2 of the missing fish though.

Re: MBU Puffer drifting...
+1 to the above. You need to lower the temperature. 86F won't help much with IPs, and is quite high for any fish. Not only can it be lethal to your puffer by itself, but it lowers the oxygen content in the water. The nitrates are still high. For that size tank, you will need to do water changes abou...

Hopefully that's the case. Large water changes should help in conjunction with the melafix and pimafix. Looking forward to hearing good news!

Isn't that the way go though? I love it when people look at one of my tanks and see the fish I want them to look at.

Re: Dwarf Puffers and IPs
The snail's body can dissolve as well. It happens fairly quickly for some reason. Another thing I have done is taken a live snail, gotten it to start "walking" on partially dissolved antibiotic, and then fed him straight away to the puffer with the meds stuck on its foot.

Re: A horrible question
Keep positive. If you have to ever bury a puffer, I would do it in your own yard if possible. The plastic bag and heavy rock is a good idea, but the body and toxin would break down much faster in just plain dirt.
