Re: ISO Young Hairy
I use gravel so no digging or burying behavior but mine loves her cave. http://i68.tinypic.com/2jbnux.jpg But she is outgoing and always comes out to see me when I come into the room. She is quite the begger and expects food. She is gorgeous... and looks big. How big is she? Probably 5” or so... no...

Re: Marine Shore Crabs
I feed shore crabs to my Hairy and Arrowhead all the time. I do pull off the claws so my fish dont get damaged. Since the crabs are saltwater and the fish are freshwater I dont worry too much about any nasty stuff getting into the tank. I would be more concerned if they were going into brackish or s...

Re: Tetraodon miurus questions
After thinking about it I would rather have 1 Tetradon miurus rather than 2+ other puffers. I just love the look of Tetradon miurus and am fine with keeping one of them as their beauty makes up for it. The Miurus will be fiesty, fun and affordable. I see where confusion could arise by using ‘Congo’...

Re: ISO Young Hairy
@Smashtoad, just saw the hairy puffer listed on Wet Spots fish list. $100 for a 3-5” wild caught.

Re: Tetraodon miurus questions
The tank size in question would be a 40 gallon breeder as I was told the size would be appropiate for three of them. Just making sure I got that... so the idea was to do 3 miurus together in a 40b? Miurus are very aggressive puffers and will likely not tolerate others of their kind. Even in a 40b I...

Re: Tetraodon miurus questions
@Mewtwo 89, What size tank are you doing for the Congo? If it were a 55g (4ft) the dithers might have a better chance.... but likely the eventuality is they will be eaten.

Re: Tetraodon miurus questions
The lukers like the Congo, Arrowhead, Dragon, Hairy are all puffers that do not require beak trimming. Diet is also pretty much the same for all of them. But puffers can have a mind of their own when it comes to what they will eat. So the diet you have in mind may work or you may get a picky one tha...

Re: ISO Young Hairy
Mine was from Wetspot too. I looked back at my emails and saw that I ordered mine toward the end of May 2014. Not sure if thats when they are “in season” but thats the month I got mine.

Re: One puff not enough, New Suvattii
My Hairy will ONLY eat live earthworms. Mine loves worms and live shore crabs. It will eat krill but for some reason wont eat shrimp. It did eat some squid but circled and sniffed at it forever. I finally just left the room and when I came back it was gone. It wont touch frozen/thawed out smelt eve...

Re: One puff not enough, New Suvattii
Need to update pics but I will say the Suvattii is very responsive to me. I ran out of worms so I went through stuff in the freezer. Well this thing seems to eat anything. Frozen krill, squid, tilipia, shrimp, razor clam meat. Apparently not picky at all. A nice change of pace compared to my hairy p...
