Re: Identification Asian puffer
hi jonas, I was actually looking for tilapia but then I saw that the lake was full with these puffers. All of them were the size as the one in the picture or smaller, I saw about 20 specimens but none larger then 7 cm. So if the species is negroviridis, where are the adults? . . . . in areas with a ...

Re: one of my Palembang's laid EGGS!!!!!!!! Please HELP
hi, the ones in the tank look healthier because in an old tank they will always find some living liite food like little worm, crustaceans and so on. as long as you do not have any food to give them, you should leave them in that tank. but as soon as you are constantly getting living brine shrimp you...

Re: one of my Palembang's laid EGGS!!!!!!!! Please HELP
hi, I bought some liquifry to feed my Daphnia and the ingredients are eggs an egg derivatives, yeast and derivatives of vegetable origin. From what I can tell the egg is not eaten by the fry, but is meant to encorage the growth of infusoria which the fry eat, I dont know if this helps you at all, bu...

Re: one of my Palembang's laid EGGS!!!!!!!! Please HELP
hi, the temperature is not a problem, if enough oxigen is in the tank. but living brine shrimp is a must. i have never seen puffer fry eating something dead. if you change water some times a day, i think they have just starved. don´t you have living brine shrimps in your shops? here in germany the p...

Re: puffer breeding
hi,
what kind of infusories do you have? try rotatoria! and do not believe those ones that are sold dried in the shops! often nothing hatches out of it. try to get living infusoria from other fish-breeders!
artemia will probably will too big.

Re: one of my Palembang's laid EGGS!!!!!!!! Please HELP
hi,
yes, the english name for artemia is brine shrimp. do not wait too long buying it, cause they need about two days to hatch!
the pufferfish larvae will only take living food and nothing else. so you can give back the other food-stuff.

hi,
martin
all puffer species are very good jumpers. in my opinion noone should ever keep puffers in an open tank.John P. (TT 225) wrote: Are these puffers jumpers? It's an open top tank, but the water level is about an inch from the top so I certainly didn't expect this.

Re: one of my Palembang's laid EGGS!!!!!!!! Please HELP
hi, Its just that as i mentioned in one of my previous posts, the egg sacks themselves appear to be stuck on a piece of semi-large driftwood which i can't exactly remove from the tank without causing a lot of problems and was wondering if there would be any way to remove the eggs without damaging th...

Re: one of my Palembang's laid EGGS!!!!!!!! Please HELP
hi, Martin, this batch may be lost no matter what.. not every person has a few extra tanks setup and is prepared to raise a bunch of fry. Just gettng the feeding planned out and the food ready is a huge hassle for someone who's not an experienced breeder. Next time around he'll have a much better id...
