Re: New dwarf puffers! Question about multiple males.

Each fish will vary in personality. Kept a pair of males together with no issues, although they wouldnt say boo to a goose. Happy with shrimp etc. However, give them space and acquire a few more females, heavy decor too. It could work. It might not though so keep a plan b ready. You just don't know ...

Re: Mixing Salt/Tank Maintenance

You can get slim-line water butts in any DIY centre. That 1400lph pump will pump to 1.8m high if I have found the correct pump. Hopefully it will be 'man enough' for the task but I think that it might struggle once it has aged a bit. You may be surprised with some of these, sure i wouldn't use it o...

Re: F8 tank: Eheim filter dimensions, and 1 or 2 filters?

I agree with the above. I would also go with 2, depends on the area you have to work with. Been playing with the small yet amazing eheim eccos for some time and love those, you could fit many in a small space and really tailor flow, plus have different media in each (after pads of course). It's grea...

Re: Python Water Changer?

An additional syphon out and waterchange is better than vacuuming just the crud imo. However it won't hurt either way. Do a little research online and I'm sure the stores will have what you need. I'm a manager at Brighton B&q and we got all you need to make an inside tap convert to the fittings ...

Re: Snails in a 40l

I say keep up the good work, snails will survive some swings and your population will start to regulate once you have your puffer. Step up your maintenance on this tank to keep the population thriving and perhaps set up a tub to move some into, you can't really have too many. Perhaps reduce feeding ...

Re: Mixing Salt/Tank Maintenance

If you are pumping from one place to another the only real thing to consider is the height it will have to push up.

Would this be a cheapo pump you refer to? http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBMERSIBLE-WATER-PUMP-AQUARIUM-FISH-TANK-SUMP-PUMPS-POND-FEATURE-WATERFALL-PUMP-/221947879735?var=&hash=item33ad1fe137%3Am%3AmKm6e_PpM2qwyWXuQ8t39vA&_trkparms=pageci%253Ab9ad3f63-a92d-11e6-878f-74dbd1a0a931%257Cparentrq%253A...

Re: Mixing Salt/Tank Maintenance

I use the cheapo pumps from eBay/Amazon to pump water around here to there. As stated above just check how high they are rated to pump and I go one bigger. Got one at £6.99 to pump from mixing tank to sump (1000lph ish Amazon) use one on my reactor too cant remember size though, seem alright,

Re: Treatments for new Puffer?

Flubendazol, spelling likely incorrect. I'm pretty sure from memory that is ok. Please wait for confirmation though. I think it's what the vets would suggest. I'm sure someone will chime in to help as it's been a long time and I can't find the packets I had that I used

Re: Treatments for new Puffer?

When treating for internal parasites you treat their food, so them being scaleless is neither here nor there. Good you have looked into it for future reference though. See what meds are available to you and post them here we can advise the most suitable from there

Re: Mixing Salt/Tank Maintenance

You can get away with a narrow tall container with a couple of well placed powerheads. Or a smaller one if you do more regular waterchanges

Re: normal or stressed?

Have a look at night, could be a nightime bully. 4 clowns in a 125 could be any one of them placing dominance. What type of wrasses? Many can be super snacky. Possibly just stress, however after a month that should've passed. Watch your tank closely its likely another factor i.e. Bullying
