OIC I had a feeling u meant that but, I misunderstood you thinking you thought it was "CURING" as in the bacteria. BC thats a common term, "Curing LR" before adding it to a system.

I dont recommend any of the goopy stuff with aloes n yady yada ya. I use dechlor its a drip style. 1 drop per gallon basically. Lasts forever too. But the favored product around here for puffers is called "Prime".

Re: Say Hi from Thailand.
aww sorry for your loss.
Some ppl with freeze an old pepsi bottle with water and let them hang in the tank or sump to chill the tank a bit. Kinda a cheap alternative to fish tank chillers.

Re: Advice needed in BW>SW plan.
You really arent curing the DIY LR. Just add it to the tank at any Sg. When your full marine add the Real LR to cure/seed the DIY rock. I would do like you said too. Add the new tank and filters and begin piecing the sump together. the sooner the better. As long as you have the return pump and an ov...

If they were there we'd get them alot and then turn to another direction and they wouldnt be there. I...

Re: Proper substrate for GSP?
YA thats what I do too! but in this case the sand was live and added to FW so It Id go the syphon method to catch more dead debris. Since its adding a ton of ammonia. To remove the ammonia quickest. The once the tank re-stabalizes use the easier method Pufferpunk suggested.

Re: Proper substrate for GSP?
What you want to do is buy an extra hose that fits your syphons mouth, Add the tubbing make it longer than the standard ones. Make sure the hose you buy is the very pliable. So begin syphon as you would with gravel then with your other hand pinch or kink the line just as the sand is about to pass th...
