Re: They arrived!! New Baileyi and Suvatti
I've very quickly become a big hairy puffer fan! I've discovered a shop that has a fully grown one in with lots of hair....can I justify setting up 2 extra tanks in one week?? hmmm!!

They arrived!! New Baileyi and Suvatti
Hi all, Per my other posts I am now the proud owner of a hairy puffer and (thanks to DMD!) a Suvatti. I released them this morning and the hairy puffer has already eaten two frozen shrimp (that were defrosted of course) and the suvatti also ate half a defrosted frozen shrimp. My hairy thankfully see...

Re: which puffer to go for...
I’ve opted for sand given they are lurkers. I’ve also ordered a job lot of plastic plants which I’ll add tomorrow hopefully once the cloudiness from the new sand settles!! I also have a load of rocks currently in another tank to add. I’ll add a photo once it’s all set up. I’ve learnt recently that g...

Re: which puffer to go for...
I think I'm going to go with Baileyi... The Abeis that are available a) I'm not 100% sure they are Abei and also b) They didn't look amazing specimens (really dull and faded patterns and super skinny) I may regret it if i can't get hold of Abei's in the future but we'll see :D I'll post pictures whe...

Re: diboisi puffer
I have found a contact in the congo that actually catches the fish and exports. I have a contact over here that can deal with the import side. I guess as they are coming direct they are avoiding the wholesaler/retailer high margins. It is also risk free as the exporter said we don't have to pay unti...

Re: diboisi puffer
ignoring the fact he is handling the fish which i know is wrong. Let me know what you think. It is coming straight from the congo therefore must be a schoutedeni or a diboisi, looks more like a diboisi due to the shape??

diboisi puffer
Hi, I didn't want to hijack the other diboisi puffer thread. I have managed to source one through an importer I know, he's importing directly and it is going to cost £90 (about $110!) I have seen pictures and it is legit. I can't find much about them, Are they particularly active? what sort of size ...
